So XXXcited to see this band again and at a smaller venue. They where suppose to play Coachella last year, I think. I forgot, but they canceled that show because something happened to James Allen (Lead Singer). They rushed him to the emergency room before they where suppose to go on. The REAL story, he was on heavy duty drugs. James actually admitted that on a interview on NME. Let's see if they get asked back to play. I actually respect James for admitting that, but I was bummed when they canceled. I was up front, way up front and today, I am UP FRONT. Thanks to my new found friends that I met at Brother U.K. concert. I am never up close at the.Troubadour and I seem to like it very much. Thanks Francine and Dianna M.

When Glasvegas came out, the guy behind me said to his friend; "wow, the drummer lost weight". I took a double take, what the FCVK. I guess he did not know that Caroline McKay left the band, but let me tell you, the new drummer kicks A$$! Jonna Löfgren was hitting those kits as if she wanted to destroy them. I was glad to see that they added more pieces to the drums and you did not miss Caroline, well, just a bit.

James Allan came out wearing sunglasses and he did not take them off during the whole show. Could he been, let's say, "H!GH". I was impressed by James mic cord. I heard about it and here it is, all lite up in it's glory.

Glasvegas was AMAZ!NG. I love the fact that you can see and hear the emotion and energy that Jame's puts on each song. Only if he did not have the sunglasses on. The whole band had this great chemisty and the new stuff sounded, AMAZ!NG. Euphoric /// Heartbreak \\\ is a MUST get album. This is a PERFECT album from start to finish. Not so many bands can do that, today. It was produced by Flood and James Allan (an written by). The show was SOLD OUT and hopefully they comeback real soon. I well be there, again.

oh WOW! Paul Donoghue (Bass Guitar) is missing a tooth. Rock ON!

Brother is getting a lot of press in NME and you would think, this night would be sold out, but it's not. Then I thought, maybe last minute and there would be a huge line, but no. I am surprised with the turn out. It's lite. So lite, that I can count all 50 people here at the NEW Satellite (the old Spaceland). Nothing was remodeled. The signature curtain is still up from Spaceland (shiny blue and gold or silver in the middle). You would think, new venue name, new everything, but no. Everything is still the same. Groovy, I think.

After watching two not so good bands, Brother delivered. I only have one song "Darling Buds of May" from them and from the songs I heard tonight, they sounded great. I was standing by the playlist and I really liked the last song they played, "Time Machine". Leonard Newell (Lead Singer) told us that we can download the album for free even though they signed to a major (Geffen) last year. How cool is that. You know what I am doing when I get home.

NME was right, Leonard was the guy to watch and boy does he have a mouth. I like. He noticed how lame the crowd was because he told us straight out. I was surprised that people did not booed him. Why should they anyway. It's true, L.A. concert goer's don't move (well some). After the last song, they just left the stage. No thank you or goodnight.

FCVK! I missed Surfer Blood. DAM! When I was heading towards the venue, I saw people coming out and I thought it was over. It was not, Surfer Blood just got off stage. I got my ticket at will call and I see they have shirts, Awesum! They ran out of the blue (The Drums) shirt so I got the black. Got my shirt and headed to the main floor. Not so many people. You might say there is 50 people in here not including the one's outside.

I just read on New Musical Express that Guitarist Adam Kessler left the band two nights before there first gig in America. Wow! He called his bandmates around 1am saying that he could not continue. "I want a simpler life", he said. So, what a cool band does? Is hire someone to take his place, but he is not replacing or gonna be part of the band. That was quick.

I do not know if The Drums picked the intermission music, but it's non-stop Kraftwerk. I like. I am looking into the crowd and they are young and pretty, also the girls. I see a couple of popadors. I know The Drums look something out from the 50's, but come on. I just spotted a letterman's jacket. Let the sock-hop begin.

The Drums came out one by one every 20 seconds. Only four of them appeared on stage so they did done away with the back up singers (sucks) and the lead guitarist (Jacob Graham) stopped playing the tambourin (double sucks), but he still had that crazy energy. I loved when he played the tambourin. He would be jumping and twirling around the stage like a crazy banshee. But he is still great to watch and that crazy little Vouge move he did when they closed it with "Down By The Water" was priceless. It was also great to see people dance here and shout out songs for them to play.

Now lets talk about Johnathan Pierce (lead singer). He is so Morrissey-ish. The way Morrissey use to be in The Smiths, swaying around the stage. He was entertaining. The other two where doing there thing and the temporary guitarist was doing great. How quick he learned the songs. I wonder if he is a friend of the band? But you know what, I prefer the last time I saw them at Spaceland last year or was it this year? Who knows. Did Jonathan just told us that we where "lovely"? He is so English now. Cheers!

So the bands perform in the lobby of this theater, groovy. This is my first time coming here for a show. The sound is good from what I hear from the second band. It's a bit busy, maybe around 40 people in here so far. I like the space. Its half the size of Spaceland (maybe the size of the main floor) and perfect to see bands from every angle. I know that Hot Hot Heat performed a month ago here and Holly Miranda. Now I know that I should catch a show here.

I am so curious on how this band (Funeral Party) is gonna be and sound. They are getting great press from NME. I heard a song from them on myspace and they sounded okay. So let's see. There is this guy next to me introducing his friends to this girl who works for RCA. I was trying to hear there conversation but it was not happening. The only thing I heard the tall guy say was, "there are two guys in the band, right?". I was, what? This guy did not do his research. He covered up his mistake by saying, "its hard to keep track of bands because I see so many". Funny. I walked around (more like a shift, to the right and a shift to the left. The place is small) and sure enough, I see dickhead. Man. I saw his stacks of flyers on the tables, so I decided to put my sticker on them. A$$hole. I looked up into the stage and I see them spreading flowers. I guess it's going to be a funeral party after all.

Funeral Party went on and they where okay. They had great energy and they had some people moving. Did the lead singer just threw his flower into the crowd? At first I was, "what the FCVK was that?". Even some of the people where surprised because it hit this guy in the front, on the shoulder. Then all of a sudden, he broke out with a mask (something the three musketeers would wear) and wore it threw the song. They played around 7 songs and they had to stop because the lead was having problems with his voice. The overall performance was....okay. But it was great to see whats the deal on this band.
