Life.in.Film.(LiVE).2015

Life.in.Film.2015

Bootleg Theatre (Los Angeles, CA)

Tuesday.August.18th

I arrived at 9p and the first band went on.  I noticed that the bass guitarist (Dominic Sennett) of Life in Film was walking around the venue with his hoodie up.  Funny.  Was he trying to hide?  Anyhow, you can count the people inside the Bootleg (30).

The second band (Midnight Faces) went on and they where really good.  I enjoyed them so much that I decided to look them up and down load some of there songs.  To me, they sounded better live from what I heard on iTunes.  Watch out for them.

Life in Film went on and they killed it!  Ten more people showed up and one exited fan who drove all the way up from San Diego.  He was singing along to almost every song with his beer up in the air like he was at a pub rooting for his favorite soccer team.  If you haven't heard of them yet, down load or physically get the album, "Here it Comes" (AWESOME!!!).  Highly recommend it and see them live!!!

Album I am listening to this week...

While you are waiting for the new Alt-J album, I suggest you take a listen to GLASS ANIMALS debut album, "Zaba".  What an AMAZING record.  If you are going to see them at Hollywood Forever, lucky you.  That show (both nights) is...SOLD OUT!!!  I didn't think it was going to sell out.  That's what happens when I wait I don't get it on time, like I always do.  Thank god, they are coming back, playing at The Troubadour and I got my ticket!!!  Make sure you GET TH!S album and catch them before they hit big.

MY FAVORITE TRACK is: "Hazey"

BRETON.(L!VE) @the.Echo...

BRETON.2012

Tuesday.September.18th

Ahhhhhhh...YEA!  They are back and it looks less crowded from the last time they where here.  No bueƱo.
BRETON.2012
Missed the first band, but I caught the second, Mathewdavid and what a trip he was.  First, I thought he was gay because of the way he was dancing on stage.  Not only that, he decided to kick it on the steps and sing to us while half of his body was laying on the floor.  I really don't like to rag on bands, but he was horrible.  I know it takes guts to be on stage to perform, but come on. He had great beats, but once he opened his mouth, it was...bad.  Yes, he surprised me too when I saw him kissing and hugging his lady friend after his performance.  Literally, I thought he was gay.  Once again, I have been bamboozled.

The third artist is signed to Ghostly International and he was good.  Forgot his name (BAD ME).  He had these two huge white balloons that projected images on them and ocassionally  change color.  I noticed that Mathewdavid just stuck around for two songs and left.  Hey, we stuck around for your performance, mister.
BRETON.2012
The night gets interesting, I happened to glance over to this Mexican guy (or someother Latin descent) asking every girls to dance.   He was turned down by everyone of them and was later escorted out by security.  Funny.
BRETON.2012
The crowd was still light, but it didn't stop Breton from throwing another amazing show.  They sounded tighter and better from the last time I saw them here, four months ago.  They cool visuals and the energy of the band was.....AWESUM!!!  They added a new member and he took over the synthesizers.  The new guy reminded me of Oscar Cash (of Metronomy) because of the way he moved when he performed behind the keyboard.

If you have not heard or seen Breton yet, you have too.  They KICK!NG A$$ and throw down a killer show.

Tuesday.August.14th

I arrived early to Pomona to avoid traffic and it took me almost and hour and a half to get here.  It should take only forty minutes, but what can you do, right.  There was a huge line to get in and of course, I had to step out because my ticket was in will call.  FCVK!!!
Franz.Ferdinand.2012
I still got a good spot even though I had to get back in line.
The first band went on and yea...The only thing interesting was the bass player and the drummer.  Did she just flash use a cameltoe?
Franz.Ferdinand.2012
There is a girl in the very front and she has headphones on.  Who brings headphones?  Of course, she does.  I thought she was gonna take them off once the show started, but...NO!  She still had then on.  It could be to cover her ears?  Who knows.

Second opening act....Really.  FCVK!  It's always nice to see security doing his job, checking his phone.  Funny.  He could of been updating his status.  Did the lead singer just flashed us a moose knuckle?  What is going on here?
Franz.Ferdinand.2012
Franz.Fernand came out and they K!LLED !T.  What another GREAT show.  They played all the hits and I loved how they mashed up Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" with "Can't Stop Feeling".  THAT WAS THE $H!T!!!

Here is the negative, I was a little disappointed that they didn't play, "Lucid Dreams".  Someone shouted it out and Alex Kapranos (Lead Singer) told him, "we forgot how you play that song".  Funny.  DAM!

They played some new songs and sound very promising.  Can't wait for the new album.  Nickolas McCarthy (Guitarist), why did you kick the crowd surfer?
