THEESatisfaction/Grimes.2012

Tuesday.June.19th

Two good things going on tonight and I might just go downstairs to check out Grimes DJ.   Curious on what she is going to spin.  I missed her...TWICE already and kicking myself because she is getting a bunch of press now.  DAM!!!  She recently was in Pasadena doing a free concert event and of course I couldn't go.  Double DAMMM!!!
THHESATISFACTION.2012
So far, the first section of the parking lot is full already (good sign).  Once inside the Echo, I could count 20 people.  It was a Hip-Hop night (I think) and it's a bit lame.  Maybe later during the night it might pick up and it did.  You can say thirty more people showed up.  THEESatisfaction was going on at 11pm and Grimes goes on at the same time, $H!T.
THHESATISFACTION.2012
Once THEESatisfaction went on, they  bored me.  I guess because I wanted to checkout Grimes, who knows.  They where good rappers, but it was not grabbing me.  What grabbed me was the 90's outfits they where wearing.  It's for sure, the 90's are making a comeback.  GROOVY!
THHESATISFACTION.2012
I stuck around for three songs and headed downstairs to check out Miss Grimes on the one's and two's.  Well,  she played a very strange set.  She played Outkast "Hey Yea" and some other Hip-Hop music that I couldn't recognize.  I should of Shazamed her playlist, but I was not thinking at the time.  I was just tripping out on the fans who came out to see her tonight.  She had some fans on stage dancing.  Maybe around thirty people on stage.  They where getting off and singing to the songs that she would spin.  It was a very colorful crowd, I liked it.  But of course, I had to be next to a drunk!  FCVKn A!!!  He was sloppy and he was bumping into a bunch of people.  But no one complained, odd.
Grimes.2012Grimes.2012
Grimes killed it!  I liked her pink butterfly outfit she had on, very ravey.  After Grimes DJ set, the crowd started to leave and Lemonade was the closing act for the night.  Let me tell you...Lemonade was lemon's.  Left after the second song.

What, no encore?  Awesome because I am tired of standing on this FCVKn step.  It didn't even help after watching two horrible opening bands.  At least, Devon was a little entertaining and sounded better then the second band, a little better. Devon's front man screamed a lot and told some jokes that didn't make any sense.
Devon.2012
The second band had a female singer that you could hardly hear what she was singing.  Almost after every second song,  they would all switch instruments and they would take turns singing.  That didn't even help.  They where all bad.  The crazy part, they just arrived from touring Spain.  WTF?!?!  Yea!  Crazy.  There name was very long, forgettable and they where even worse then Devon.  Devon should of gone second to relieve me from the second band.  It was...really, BAD.  BUT...It didn't stop the kids from moshing though.
the.Cribs.2012
The moshing didn't get to out of control, but I was getting bumped into a lot by these drunk couple (great, here we go).  The girl was so FVCKd up that the guy was propping her up a bunch. I was almost knocked over a couple of times because of them.  It didn't help that I was standing on a step too.
the.Cribs.2012
The.Cribs hit the stage at 11 o'clock and they kicked A$$!  This is my first Crib concert and I thank my friend Zowie for inviting me to see them.  More moshing started and the kids where getting tired.  What, already.  I would turn over to see the kids go crazy and a minute later, the moshing would end.  They should of saved all the energy for The Crids instead of that awful second band.

\m/- Crazy.

Tuesday.June.5th

FCVK!  I am still jet lag (just a little).  I hope it goes away soon.  Ten o'clock hits, I get sleepy.
Is.Tropical.2012
I arrived at the parking lot and its filling up quick and it's only 9 o'clock at night.  It looks like this is going to be a good night.  I arrived at the EchoPlex and there was a line to get in.  It did not take that long to arrive inside.  I headed to my spot and I noticed my friend, Zowie their (cool).  She told me the first band was, terrible.  The second band was up next and they where...I'll  just leave it at that.
Is.Tropical.2012
Is Tropical was up next.  I was watching them set up there equipment and they where not what I expected.  I thought they where gonna look very proper indie kids, but they looked like Metal heads.  They had long hair with a scruffy look.  I like.  When they preformed, they sounded a little different.  At first, I was, is this Is Tropical?  But it was them.  They where good and I liked the little changes on "Lies".  Groovy.

After Is Tropical, I was gonna leave.  I have not heard of Crystal Fighters and I could see why.  Zowie told me I should stick around for them because they are good.  So I did and they where...okay.  I think the lead singer of CF was HIGH!!!  When I arrived at home, I listened to a couple of songs on iTunes.  The songs sounded better, L!VE.

Sunday.June.3.2012

FCVK!  I am still  jet lag.  On Saturday night, I arrived back home from Provincetown, MA.  I almost came close not going to Santigold on Sunday at Oceanside, but I didn't want to disappoint my friend Dianna.  She got me this ticket for my birthday and thank God I didn't cancel because this was a cool festival.  It was right on the beach, by OceanSide Pier.  It had a okay line up; Electric Youth, The Naked and Famous (they sounded better from the last time I saw them) and two other bands that I forgot their names.
Santigold.2012
People in Oceanside where very friendly and polite.  If they bumped into you or accidentally kicked a empty cup at you, they would say, sorry.  What?!?!  That word is unheard of in Los Angeles.  I was shocked.  What was more shocking was the price of food.  A slice of New York pizza (which was FCVKn good) was $7.00!!!  Well, they sure kept it real for NYC.  I was gonna get another one, but decided to get a $3.00 hot dog (which was good).  Beer was $6.00 and all they had was Bud Light beer.  Just Bud Light beer.
Santigold.2012
Besides the food and the people, Santigold kicked A$$!!!  I think she preformed better here then she did at Coachella.  It could of been ALL the pot I kept inhaling from my neighbors.  Just kidding.  She was great, but the only thing I have to say, can we have some visuals next time around.  Just saying.

\m/ - Rock On!!!

Tuesday.May.15th

I walked in to this band called, Part Time and they reminded me of The Wedding Singer.  It was straight out cheese, but I kind of liked it.  What didn't help the cheesiness, was the eighties dance moves my neighbors where doing.  The band members just stood there motionless.  It looked to me as if they didn't want to be here tonight.  Maybe thats part of the act.  Groovy.
the.Drums.2012
Craft Spells was the next band and they caused a bit of chaos.  Kids where pushing and shoving each other and they haven't even hit the stage yet.  I never heard of Craft Spells, but these young kids have.  I looked over to the crowd to see the kids go buck wild and I notice this guy grab this kid's hat and threw it.  The kid turned around and just had a normal conversation with the guy.  I thought there was gonna be some punches thrown.  Weak, but civil.
the.Drums.2012
Talking about punches being thrown, the girls in back of me almost threw down and they where older ladies.  SHOCKED!

Besides hat's, punches and speed stick?!?!  Yea, speed stick.  This girl in the front row pulled it out after Craft Spells.  She rolled up her sleeves and slapped it on.  She wanted to smell pretty for Jonathan Pierce (Lead Singer of The Drums).  Hahahhaha.
the.Drums.2012
Once again, the.Drums kicked A$$!!!  I don't think I or maybe if they play at a bigger venue stop seeing them.  They always throw a GREAT show and this was there last show in America before they leave to Japan to end there tour.  They really ended this show with a bang.  They invited people on stage on the last song, "Let's Go Surfing" (I thought they stopped playing that song?!?! I guess they gave in when the crowd started chanting it before the encore).

\m/ - AWESOME!!!
